If you've wanted to mod in your own animatronics for the game, here's a tutorial! If you've ever tried modding in characters for RR-Engine stuff this is much easier.

Sorry the last update didn't export right, I run on Linux so didn't notice the export was corrupted. Newest file should be working and I now know how to ensure that doesn't happen for future versions.

Gamejolt's filesize limit for games is 3gb, and we've gone over that. Given this is animation software that's gonna have an ever growing list of assets, maps, and characters, downloads have to be external now.

• Added i6nis and Splinks Foxy with all their original skins, and one of the i6nis model based on the playermodel version (where the Shoulder R movement is now a crowbar swing). These models will be the same group as when I add the real FNaF 1 cast / help wanted skins, so programming these will also work on them in a future update.

• Added Freddy Fazbear's Pizza map based off the classic Keithy map, using the same Hammer brushes and placements, but remastered textures and props for fun- alongside not having any Source engine assets in the game. (Still a WIP)

• Construction mode now allows lights to be moved around, copied, and deleted.

• All animatronics now update their values at a fixed 14fps (by default, the values update instantly whenever a bit changes)- while the animations are projected accordingly. This allows the same amount of resources to be used regardless of you running at 60fps or 240fps.

• Fixed many issues with Construction mode, mainly inconsistent wireframe visibility, especially on lights and newly spawned skins. The mode also now doesn't force a skin change when opening the skin menu.

• Added new 'play' variant of an animation, where instead of 'loop' where an off signal pauses the movement, 'play' will finish the animation and wait for the next on signal to start again.

• Fixed an issue with converting channels to float causing an error (might still happen? I can't remember if I fully fixed it)

• sent_signal on animatronics now gets cut off early if its the same as the current value to prevent calling animation updates. Weirdly this is a very common issue so there may be future FPS gain here.

• You can now click the left most button of a channel to edit the channel, which lets you mass-erase, convert channels, and assign more controller options than just the base function, bringing back the full controller functionality seen in the node system

• Fixed a massive lag and stutter issue when scrubbing and unpausing later in a showtape, this was due to audio seeking tripping over itself, so this has been massively reduced (alongside video scrubbing, though be aware adding a video still creates large hitches in scrubbing depending on the quality of it)

• Adjusted the timeline to now adjust when desynced instead of the audio, removing unneeded seeking stutters. Do note in laggy sessions you may notice the timeline jump briefly around when unpausing as it tries to center itself under the startup lag.

Click on any to have them display in the timeline. Channels not found in the current scene (or if no map is loaded) go into the 'Other' group.

To anyone who was ready to see the Bonnie design for the FA2 gang, surprise! I actually teased this months back in the server with a concept design i drew.

One of the plans will be that the pins can have their images changed per-showtape, not sure if that'll make it to the next update or in the future but the scaffolding is there.

• Added the Welcome Show from Secret of the Mimic to the map list (Happy SOTM VR Release Day!). Map currently does not include all functions, but includes both Mr. and Mrs. Helpfuls, Jug Band Monty + Hippo, the Juggling Duck, and Birthday Puppy alongside various lights.

  

• Added new 'Construction Mode' by pressing 'C' in-game. This toggles wireframes around any Animatable. Clicking on them will bring up a menu you can scroll through to change position, scale, rotation, duplicate objects, delete them, or edit their skin/character.

  

• Added new skin editor in Construction Mode that groups characters by their Signal Group, allowing mods to add as many additional skins for the same character. If a character has the Paintable shaders enabled, this also lets you modify their paint- finally carrying over this ability from the Node system. (Noting in advance some character materials don't have paint maps but are paint shaders so they do nothing when changed)

  

• Added the FNaF 3 map to the game, though just as a test and with incomplete assets. I did throw a Toy Robot animatable in the office though so players can change/duplicate it to be any other character.

  

• Fixed the FNaF4 robot toy to be more accurate.

• Adjusted sizes of lots of characters to be equally sized in maps (for modders, ensure your animatable's root is always scale of 1. Adjust the size of the child model to fit your needs)

To clarify the animations are not baked in, you can set Mr. Helpful to have forward/back/left/right/twisting motions and the physics bones do the rest. Arms are fully controlled too

• Added "TrueFNaF" to modlist. One of the planned (but large in scope so expect slow updates) parts of Faz-Anim 2 is fully Scott-accurate FNaF maps and models to animate with to pair alongside my custom designed maps. The initial plan is 1-6+HW, but if things go well I would really like to do Movie 1+2.

  • Added FNaF 4 map (Revamped version of the one you've likely used in Blender or SFM, I used to make basically all the FNaF maps before Help Wanted). Main changes are the newly found OG texture assets, upscaled textures, and the Plushtrap room now being situated between the main halls.

  • Added 'FNaF 4' save template with controls.

  • Added the Toy Fan, Toy Bug, Toy Robot, and Toy Phone as animatables, alongside all the lamps and upper lights in the FNaF 4 house.

  • Added 'TrueFNaF' shader that will be used as the basis of replicating Scott-Era 3DS Max rendering pipelines. Additionally, the FNaF4 map is tonemapped in Linear space instead of AGX for the same reason.

• Added 3 new characters to the Faz-Anim 2 other showroom (the Winchester looking area up on the high walls). That being Vennard, A.C., and H. Vac- along with their spotlights.

• Added support for float, color, audio, video, image, and string types for programming. This is mostly barebones support- the actual working ones are float (0.0->1.0 in game), color, and Video. Faz-Anim 2's bit charts (for new shows) now add back in the support for adjusting the eyelids as floats, adjusting spotlight sizes, adjusting spotlight colors, adding back the video projector on the back wall.

• Updated the ordering of the Faz-Anim 2 save template and added coloring per-channel.

• Added a new Wiki option to the main menu that now details stuff about Faz-Anim 2, Give-LIFE, and how to mod the game. The wiki is also moddable with any mod able to easily add new entries or categories for themselves.

• Added menu sounds to all UI buttons in the editor, alongside simplifying how the sounds grabbed the current audio.

Hotfix 0.19.1

• Fixed some bad optimization issues with the new non-boolean bits.

• Moved the process of sending signals out to be tied to framerate to now a solid 14fps. Note that any signal has 120fps of precision, but even the most chattery jaw movements clocked in at 8 changes in a second, so 14 makes up for any timing.

• Spotlights now fade between colors assigned in a color channel. This fade speed can be changed for modders.

• Fixed some precision issues with where the timeline scrubber was positioned.

• Completely reworked player movement to feel a lot like Team Fortress 2, including air strafing, jump trajectory, and b-hopping. Crouching also properly lowers the character.

• Begun work on the night segments for the game, including the altered player state, lighting, night timer, C. Ca's movement AI, restart on touching C. Ca, light flickering, C. The editor has been overhauled! After so many complaints about the complexity of the node system, alongside a lot of backend issues with how i implemented it, it has been scrapped and a timeline-based RR-Engine style approach is now in place. I can still implement all of the fun advanced features the node system provided in this system too, but we will have to start from scratch to add them back in.

For now, its just on/off bit channels. This does mean you can't change spotlight colors or adjust the Faz-Anim 2 eyelids to not just blink, alongside video still needing work, but otherwise most things are animatable!

Also, Faz-Anim 1 assets are being imported as a new map!

Editor Guide:

When accessing the new editor (press Tab to open, ESC to close), you have the ability to create a new show using a template for Faz-Anim 1 or 2, or go from scratch (modders only really). You can also import tapes that have been exported to ZIP (old node-based save files dont work)

Importing RR-Engine .xshw files also work! And not in the broken way they were before.

The brackets [ ] on the left of channels is how you assign keys to animate. For now this is the 0-9 keys. Just hover and press to assign! You can assign a key to multiple channels. Press backspace on them to delete the assign.

Go onto the timeline and hold the key and you're able to create keys without playing the show! Drag it to move it around, or grab one of its sides to extend/shorten it! Right click to delete it.

Ways to navigate the timeline! Scroll to scroll the list of channels, Scroll + Shift to pan the timeline, Scroll + Ctrl to zoom the timeline. You can use 'P' to play the show without being inside the editor.

In the upper area the "Media" tab is how audio is added now, you click 'Add Media', which allows video, audio, and photos (though really only audio is used right now). Adding audio automatically has it play.

If your audio has an embedded album cover and your showtape doesn't have a cover yet, it'll extract the cover and assign it as 'cover.png'. If you want you can delete it and add your own jpg or png named 'cover' and it'll become the cover!

The viewport is now its own freecam! Hold left click to look, and use WASD to move.

There are many more plans but I just wanted to get something functional! You can import your whole RR-Engine library, create shows, export and share shows too. The file format is now much more compact too while still being readable json!

The modularity of the engine has made this update not affect any of your setups, but I made a change to the flow controls .json. Your original key (the top string) now needs to go into the "animation" value to denote what animation is being played. You can now freely rename that movement to use a better name. Be aware that name now needs to include the signal group the character is in with a pipe '|', so in this case above its "FA_CHICA|". This is the same name you'll use for channel templates.

Also yes channel templates are now a thing! Check Mod Directory/Save Templates in Faz-Anim 1 and 2 and you'll see its basically a stripped down save file with just the channels and a template name. Adding one to your mod will auto set it up in the "create showtape" menu just like how "import showtape" takes from Mod Directory/Bit Charts

Yes the game originally had a server on Revolt, and I gave it a good 3 month shot to see if people would enjoy- but retention was basically nothing. Discord is too convenient and the game will have much more of an active community this way, so enjoy joining!

XSHW Converter

• New separate mod available on the main page! This is the 'XSHW Converter', which converts (as of now just .fshw) shows from Faz-Anim into Give-LIFE as a Record node and its audio file. No nodes are auto hooked up yet so you will have to manually connect up the required Animatronics, Lights, Timeline, Audio, and Speaker nodes.

• When importing the mod in the Mod Menu, be sure to close out of the game and re-open for the button to appear in the Node Editor

• To access the converter, click the button pictured below and hit 'Import .fshw', upon selecting your show and waiting, a new save file will appear in your list as the convert, this will not affect the current show you have loaded.

  

Give-LIFE

• New 'Controller' node allows you to use a generic game controller to provide inputs for shows, including analog inputs for triggers, and magnitude + angle options for both joysticks.

• Added controller support for the player when loaded into a map, including buttons for flying, the flashlight, and using the up/down D-Pad buttons while holding particular buttons to modify them (just like scroll-wheel can on keyboard)

• New 'Translate' node that allows manipulation of an object's position, rotation, and scale. 'AA_FD','AA_CCA', and 'PROP_MRHUGS_2' are available to manipulate.

• Added WIP model of F.D (Freddy), not animatable yet- except through the Translate node.

Black light shaders are here!!! A new node allows you to turn a light into a UV black light, which will reveal special glowing paint on textures!

Also be aware that save files from last update might not be compatible with this one due to some fundamental internal changes to Output nodes, big changes like this shouldn't happen going forward though!

• Fixed a bug that caused stack overflow when trying to go back to the beginning of playback after recording for a long time with lots of signals.

AUDIO PLAYBACK WORKS!

You can now use a new signal type, Audio! While this now lets you obviously sync shows to music, this new implementation adds so much potential! You now at any point in the show can switch audio files, or (in future updates when we have separate physical show speakers) send different ones to different places! You also have full control over what points they sync to, which can be independent from the show timeline! (One idea is creating sound effects that can play independently)

But how do you incorporate this? Well using the image above: you can currently send audio through the Direct Output node directly to your speakers. The node itself lets you select audio from your computer (which is saved to the save file), but you can also use the Audio node to have it saved through the Record node.

Another thing: How do you share save files now? Well until I add an easier way to import/export, workspaces are saved in:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Give LIFE\My Precious Save Files\

• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Give LIFE/My Precious Save Files/

• Linux: ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Give LIFE/My Precious Save Files/

-in a folder that's named a bunch of numbers. Each workspace is its own save file, not any individual recording! Copy that folder or zip it up and there ya go! All the save contents are also in a human readable format- and audio files can be directly taken from it!

Hello, sorry to anyone who had recording break during the last test! A last minute change bugged it that I didn't catch. Its now fixed here!

Also, file saving is now here! The next test will be finally implementing audio to sync.

Patch Notes

-Added Saving! The bottom right corner of the node menu lets you create, load, and save 'Workspaces' of your nodes. This also includes any recordings from your recording node!

Welcome to TEST_B! You can now record your inputs and play them back! I will note however this still does NOT allow you to sync it to audio or save anything! That's for future tests.

So how does this work? Well we have 2 nodes- I'm gonna use the image above as the example- being the Timeline and Record nodes. Timeline simply outputs the time and you can play/pause, reset, ect. Record will take any inputs you feed into it (you'll need to hit the '+' button and add your own rows), output them, but also store them if the recording toggle is on. It stores them based on the 'Current Time' you'll have feeding in from the Timeline node (though you could be wacky and feed it any 'float'(number) node)

If you reset the time and play it back again, your inputs will replay!

IMPORTANT EXPLANATION: Upon additional layerings of recordings, it will ignore the initial input value (when hitting record or when time is set back to 0), that way the input's you aren't even messing with but are still technically 'being inputted' wont record again. IF you modify this input however it will now record these inputs alongside your previous layerings. If you do this in an unintended way this may result in weird jitter as successive playbacks fight between two different values you recorded!

I may eventually change this to simply overwrite previous layerings with your new inputs. For now just be weary that if you're using a constantly updating value (like the sine node) that you may wanna disconnect it for future layerings or it'll stack!

WELCOME to your new home for animatronic simulation.

As with previous titles, development is fully open to experience from the very beginning, and this is the start! Temper expectations and see the potential!

Give LIFE dramatically changes Faz-Anim's animation system. This build will see you able to connect various nodes together to form your own animation system- for now controlling Chica's head and her spotlight. There is NO way to record or play audio yet, nor save progress. That will come next!

Have fun experimenting!!! Note that for non ON/OFF signals that are in-between will determine how fast a movement goes out. The eyelids are different however and will set their exact position!
